At the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) Transregio 294 “The Structural Transformation of Property”, which is hosted at the Universities of Jena and Erfurt, within the Junior Research Team 5 on “Private debt and property formation in the context of historical upheavals in Germany and the USA” the following position with 26 hours per week is available as soon as possible:
Research Assistant (f/m/d)
Pay category E 13 TV-L (65 %)
Area of Responsibility
- participation in the research tasks, as well as the preparation and implementation of workshops and events of the interdisciplinary CRC “Structural Change of Property” (https://www.sfb294-eigentum.de/en)
- Contribution to Junior Research Team 5 “Private debt and property formation in the context of historical upheavals in Germany and the USA”. Working on the sub-aspect of debt and homeownership in US history.
- further academic qualification (doctorate within the framework of the SFB 294/Transregio “Structural Change of Property” and at the Philosophical Faculty at Erfurt University (https://www.uni-erfurt.de/en/philosophische-fakultaet/seminare-professuren/historisches-seminar)
What we expect
- excellent academic degree at MA level in history, cultural studies, economic history or related disciplines
- in-depth knowledge of North American or transatlantic history of the 20th and 21st centuries
- international experience, preferably proven by a longer stay abroad (study/internship abroad)
- very goodknowledge of English
